Intruder Alarm Systems

Whether you require a straightforward, residential wireless setup or a sophisticated, multi-zone wired system spanning several sites, Matter Integration Ltd possesses the technical depth and industry expertise to deliver. We recognise that security is never a "one-size-fits-all" product; it is a critical service that must adapt to the specific nuances of your environment.

What's right for us?

Should I choose a Wired or Wireless Alarm System?

Wireless Systems: Ideal for homes and smaller businesses, offering flexible installation with minimal disruption. Battery-powered sensors communicate wirelessly with the main panel.

Wired Systems: Best for larger commercial premises or new builds, providing maximum reliability and often preferred for high-security applications. Sensors are hardwired back to the control panel.

What types of sensors are available?

Dual Technology Motion Detectors: Detect body heat and movement, commonly used indoors.

Door/Window Contacts: Trigger an alarm when a protected door or window is opened.

Glass Break Detectors: Listen for the sound of breaking glass.

Vibration Sensors: Detect attempts to force entry or smash through a surface.

Dual-Tech Sensors: Combine two detection technologies (e.g., PIR and microwave) to reduce false alarms.

What is "Pet-Friendly" PIR?

Pet-friendly PIRs are designed to ignore animals up to a certain weight (e.g., 25-40 kg), allowing your pets to move freely within your property without triggering false alarms, while still detecting human intruders.

What is the difference between a Bells-Only Alarm and a Monitored Alarm?

Bells-Only: When triggered, the external siren activates, alerting neighbours. There is no automatic notification to you or a monitoring station.

Monitored Alarm: When triggered, a signal is sent to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). The ARC will then follow pre-agreed instructions, typically contacting keyholders and/or the police, depending on the alarm type and verification.

What is a Grade 2 vs. Grade 3 Intruder Alarm?

Grade 2: Suitable for most residential and small commercial properties, offering good protection against intruders with limited knowledge and tools.

Grade 3: Designed for high-risk residential properties and most commercial buildings, providing enhanced security against intruders with some knowledge and a range of tools.

Your insurance company may specify the required alarm grade.

Can I control my alarm system remotely?

Yes, most modern intruder alarm systems can be controlled via a smartphone app. This allows you to arm/disarm your system, receive notifications, and even view event logs from anywhere with an internet connection.

How often should my alarm system be serviced?

To ensure optimal performance and compliance with insurance requirements, it is recommended that your intruder alarm system is serviced annually by a qualified professional. Monitored systems often require two services per year.
